TeleTrainer
Instruction Manual
The TeleTrainer is a
simple device which teaches children how to operate a telephone.
To operate the TeleTrainer, two standard phones and a 9V battery are
necessary. Approximately 5 hours of continuous use are possible on a
standard 9V alkaline battery
.
Sample
operation:
-
Remove battery cover from bottom of
unit and attach 9V battery. Replace cover.
-
Plug two standard telephones into the
RJ11 phone jacks on the top of the unit. One is designated
“Instructor” and the other is “Student”.
-
Press the “ON” button on the top of the
unit. A green LED will light if it is functioning properly.
-
Pick up the “Student” phone. A normal
Dial Tone should be heard.
-
Dial “9 1 1” from the “Student” phone.
The unit will ring just like a telephone, and ringback tone can be
heard from the receiver. “9 1 1” is the default number programmed
into the unit when first powered up.
-
Pick up the “Instructor” phone; the
ringing stops and the two phones are connected. Conversation is
possible.
-
To turn the TeleTrainer off, simply hit
the “ON” button again. A shutdown tone will be heard. After 5
minutes of no use, the TeleTrainer will shutdown automatically.
To
Reprogram the TeleTrainer with a custom number:
-
Turn the unit on, and pick up the
“Instructor” phone. A special tone will be heard, which signifies
the “Instructor” phone.
-
Dial the desired custom number,
followed by the “#” key. A special confirmation tone will be
heard. (If using a “pulse” type phone, just hang up after dialing
the custom number.)
-
Hang up the “Instructor” phone.
-
The TeleTrainer is now
programmed.
-
Pick up the “Student” phone. Normal
dial tone will be heard.
-
Dial the custom number. If it is
dialed correctly, the unit will ring, and when the “Instructor”
phone is picked up, conversation is possible.
-
If the wrong number is dialed, the
“Student” will get a busy signal, and must hang up and try again.
-
To program a different number in,
simply pick up the “Instructor” phone and repeat the above steps.
